About Johan

Dr. Johan Gustafson is an marine ecologist specialising in shark behaviour, movement and environmental interactions. He is an expert on shark ecology.

He leads the Shark Ecology Australia (SEA) group at Griffith University, Gold Coast Australia, with projects running in remote and developed areas along the Queensland coast.

His research and consulting methods use new and innovative technologies and analysis to research species behaviours, movement, conservation and interactions in urbanised areas. He strongly believes in collaborations and public education campaigns, and has appeared in several National Geographic, Discovery and Australian Geographic features.
